Seven useful things to do with your exported Claude data
Turn a private conversation snapshot into project notes, reusable constraints and a practical review plan.

These archive guides cover independent backups. Persir accepts prompt summaries, not full account exports. Use the summary flow.
A Claude export can be useful without becoming a giant prompt in another chatbot. Start with a private copy and choose a small outcome. The strongest uses recover your own work and make it easier to act. They do not require a model to invent a personality assessment or expose every conversation you have had.
Recover project context and unfinished work
First, build a project inventory. Search for the names of projects you actually worked on, then record the last decision, next action and unresolved question for each. Keep citations or conversation references in a private source column. Do not label a generated suggestion as a decision unless you accepted it.
Second, find unfinished work. Look for your own phrases such as “later,” “next week” or “I still need.” Turn relevant items into a short review list, then decide which still matter. An old intention is not a current obligation. Mark abandoned tasks explicitly so your archive does not become an endless backlog.
Recover preferences and reusable instructions
Third, collect writing constraints you stated repeatedly: audience, tone, length, examples or terminology. Create a small preference note in your own words. Check whether a constraint applied to one assignment or to your work generally before presenting it as a permanent preference.
Fourth, recover reusable workflows. A conversation may contain a successful sequence for reviewing a draft, preparing a meeting or debugging a problem. Rewrite the steps so they make sense without private client details. Test the workflow on a new, harmless example before treating it as a dependable template.
Build a learning and decision record
Fifth, review learning questions. Group your own questions by subject and distinguish introductory questions from later troubleshooting. Write one practical exercise for each subject you want to revisit. Conversation volume alone does not establish mastery; demonstrate what you can now do.
Sixth, create a decision log. Record the options you considered, constraints you mentioned and the choice you ultimately made. Keep the assistant’s recommendation separate from your decision. This can be especially helpful when circumstances change and you want to understand which assumption should be revisited rather than restarting the whole discussion.
Create a small profile you can correct
Seventh, assemble a private preference summary from explicit statements that still represent you. Include the date, scope and source for each item. A useful summary might say “for weekend trips, I currently prefer short train journeys,” rather than making a broad claim that you dislike flying.
Persir can organize a confirmed Claude prompt summary into private source statements and supported About Me experiences. It no longer processes complete conversation archives. Use its prompt, keep meaningful specifics and unknown dates, then inspect or correct saved details in Data. Provider summaries can be wrong; importing one creates no merchant-sharing permission and promises no reward.
Keep each output purposeful
Choose one or two uses first. Store the derivative notes separately from the original, and label which archive they came from. If you share a workflow or project summary, inspect it for other people’s data, confidential material and copied third-party text before publishing.
Anthropic’s export and terms guidance remain the primary references for source-account instructions and content responsibilities. Your own review adds the context those instructions cannot provide. The valuable result is a short set of accurate, usable records—not a bigger pile of generated summaries that you have no time to check.
